Unitarian Universalists are committed to justice and inclusion. Our tradition has been at the forefront of welcoming people of all ages and abilities who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and gender-nonconforming. Nearly all our congregations are certified Welcoming Congregations. We work for racial justice and for truth, healing, and reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples. We welcome people from all racial, religious, linguistic, and ethnic backgrounds, and want to learn what you have to teach us, from your background and experience. We want to include you in our faith community, where shared values are more important than shared beliefs. We are united by our values, our broad and inclusive outlook, and our commitment to love and justice. Unitarian Universalist congregations affirm and promote eight Principles, which we hold as strong values and moral guides. We live out these Principles within a “living tradition” of wisdom and spirituality, drawn from sources as diverse as science, poetry, scripture, and personal experience.
