UUSS Part Time TECHNICAL COORDINATOR Position
starting in September 2025

Job Description

  • Technical support for monthly hour long service on every 3rd Saturday

    • Set up equipment stored at the church at 1530 E 22nd Ave in Vancouver

      • Sound equipment which includes a speaker, sound board, wired and wireless microphones, bluetooth hearing impaired system

      • Projection for slides

      • Camera for filming and recording service (currently an iPhone on a tripod)

      • Get Zoom up and running for remote attendees on laptop

      • Test all with Worship Committee and/or guest speaker

    • Support during service

      • Monitor sound levels

      • Monitor Zoom room to ensure all online can hear and see the service

      • Play music and/or videos if required, making sure to share on Zoom

      • Move slides along when signaled

    • Break down

      • Put all sound equipment away in master case

      • Roll up all cables and store in case

      • Store all equipment away downstairs in secure closet

  • Work with Worship team on slides needed for service on Powerpoint

  • Take still pictures before and after service for website and archives

  • Training will be supplied. During the initial monthly engagement, the work will be shared with an experienced team member for questions and feedback

Preferred candidates will have the following experience:

  • Basic familiarity with A/V equipment, can be trained on system we have 

  • Hosting video conferencing experience 

  • Basic iPhone photography knowledge

  • Some Powerpoint background

  • Ability to work autonomously 

Compensation and time required

  • Time 

    • Up to 1 Hour during the week before the service working with Worship Team on their required presentation on Powerpoint which could include embedded  or separate music and video files

    • 2 hours every month to support service from 4:00pm - 6:00pm

    • Occasional support for special presentations/meetings, up to 6 hours annually

  • Compensation

    • $75 per month for the worship service and then $25/hr for any additional events
