"Reconciliation"

Sunday, Nov 1 at 11:00am
at Molly Nye House,940 Lynn Road, North Vancouver

Michael Watson will reflect on Germany's efforts to come to terms with the horrors of the Nazi era.

The presentation will cover two aspects of this reconciliation; firstly, the efforts made by the post-WW2 'new Germany', to deal with the Nazi persecution of Jews, Communists, Roma homosexuals, political opponents and other 'troublemakers'.

Secondly, he will explain his own path to reconciliation, from being born in wartime England, to his gradual understanding of the persecution that his German Jewish mother and her family had been subjected to by the Nazi regime.

The Sociocracy Circle is excited to announce the UUSS Sociocracy Launch on November 7!  Your voice and energy shape our relations;  we want to see this embodied in our governance.

"Momento Mori
A Service of Remembrance"

Many cultures and faith traditions have times during the year when the dead are remembered and celebrated. These days of remembrance also help remind the living that life is precious, sacred, and short. Join us as we remember our beloved dead and that we, too, must die. Please bring a dish to share at our potluck that reminds you of an ancestor or someone you have lost.

REMINDER – Our services through the dark months – November, December & January – begin at 11:00 am with a potluck lunch following at 12:00 noon.

On Friday Nov 13 at 7:00pm, Beacon is presenting an evenina with Shari Ulrich.  Proceeds to New West Hospice Society!
