HOLIDAY HAMPERS

We are very grateful and happy to say that we have had a very generous response to our Holiday Hamper project. And we are looking forward with excitement to putting it all together at the gift making workshop on Sunday Dec. 7 at 11 am at Mollie Nye House.

Please bring your gifts, along with  receipts for anything that might need to be exchanged, on Sunday. Or let us know if you need to make another arrangement.

If you are an expert gift wrapper, or love being creative, please drop by the far corner where we will welcome your help in making it all look festive and beautiful.

Though the major gifts are covered, a few small stocking stuffers to increase joy and abundance are welcome. One recipient is a family of 29 y.o. Mom, 12 y.o. son and a cat. Suggestions would be food treats, small toiletries, small toys or games, or maybe some cat treats? The second recipient is a 79 y.o. female living in a group setting. Suggestions could include small toiletries or comfort items. Any food treats for her need to be gluten free.

Again thanks for your generosity. Shelley and Anne are looking forward to delivering the two hampers to the Christmas Bureau on December 15.

The Meaning Making project publishes a monthly themed packet of materials suitable for both individual and group study. Here is the December packet, including a discussion guide.  Please let us know if you would like assistance in creating a group.

TOMORROW NIGHT!
Saturday Dec 6
 @ 2:00pm

"Wintering: A mini retreat for the winter solstice"
Sunday Dec 21
 @ 3:30pm

The Vancouver Unitarian Earth Spirituality group invites you to spend some time with other creative souls on the longest night of the year.

Winter is a time to focus on our inner life, and yet the world sometimes pulls us out and about, spinning us around. We’ll gather in Hewett Hall, cast a circle of sanctuary to protect us from the busy world outside. We’ll ritually bid farewell to whatever we are eager to leave behind from the past year.

Then people will choose one of three workshops and spend 2 hours together, whether circle dancing, crafting garlands or reading and writing. The workshops will be a way to connect with others and possibly make new friends.

Come and experience the power of rest and retreat and enjoy a time of quiet joy in community with other creative souls.

At 4:30, we gather in the hall together in a circle for a winter solstice ritual and to release directions and open the circle, followed by a giveaway of pre-loved goods. At 5:00, go if you must, stay if you will.  (Help with cleanup appreciated.)

To make this a comfortable and cozy space, we have a maximum enrollment, so please do register early. Registration

We acknowledge that we live on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem First Nation), which lies within the shared territories of the Tsleil-Waututh, Katzie, Musqueam, Qayqayt, Squamish, and Sto’:lo Nations. We thank the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm who continue to live on these lands and care for them, along with the waters and all that is above and below
