Social/Celebration to follow at 4

Bring your curious and creative selves to help us celebrate our first year and chart the upcoming one. The meeting is a hybrid event so please join us in person or on zoom! (to offer or find a carpool contact Robyn Newton).

Then it's time to celebrate! We'll provide the cake and drinks. Donations of finger food appreciated.

If you plan to join us in person, please RSVP so we have enough cake!

Your Planning Team

*We need a minimum of 40 people to sign on as members before we are granted emerging congregation status.

NEXT MONTHLY SERVICE
Saturday, June 15 @ 5:00pm
"Pride As a Riot"

Join us for our Pride Service! More details to come.

John Slattery hosted two dialogues on Membership last week. catherine participated in the discussion on Tuesday and we covered a lot of ground about what membership means to us and what it might look like in the context of UUSS. We even explored the idea of whether we need to differentiate members from non-members. It was a meaningful and heartfelt conversation.

CUC Happenings

Highlights of the CUC AGM

Approximately 126 people – 72  delegates and several observers – attended the Canadian Unitarian Council’s (CUC’s) Annual General Meeting (AGM), held online Saturday, May 25, 2024. A few small changes were made to the process of the AGM, including allowing non-voting observers to speak; offering different gradients of agreement beyond a simple yes/no vote; and conducting periodic “temperature checks” to decide when to extend discussion on an item. More info here.

We acknowledge that we live on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem First Nation), which lies within the shared territories of the Tsleil-Waututh, Katzie, Musqueam, Qayqayt, Squamish, and Sto’:lo Nations. We thank the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm who continue
to live on these lands and care for them, along with the waters and all that is above and below
.
