“I’m not missing a minute of this - it’s the revolution”
June is internationally recognized as Pride Month, a celebration of 2SLGBTQIA+ people, and as the title quote from Sylvia Rivera implies, it's been a revolutionary fight for human rights from the beginning. Join us as, through story and song, we learn about queer history, leaders, and ancestors who have shaped the ongoing revolution for intersectional queer rights, and honour their legacy with a look at the work that remains to be done and the ways we can become good ancestors for those who come after us.
There is some street parking, some parking in the lot of Lord Selkirk elementary (about 3 blocks away) and some parking at the Famous Foods (also about 3 blocks away). Hopefully this map will be useful in finding the church and parking.
We will follow this worship with a potluck meal. Feel free to bring a dish or drinks to share. All cutlery and plates are provided.
If you are able, please come a bit early or stay a bit later to help set up for or clean up from our time together. Many hands make light work!
