Monthly Service - "Water Communion"

  • 23 Sep 2023
  • 5:00 PM - 7:30 PM
  • St. Margaret's Cedar Cottage Anglican Church, 1530 E. 22nd Ave. Vancouver, BC

Water Communion marks the time when our separate streams find their way to the river.  Join friends and community members at St. Margaret's Cedar Cottage Anglican on Saturday, September 23 at 5 pm to worship and commune together.  You are encouraged to bring a bit of water to share in this ritual. This will be a time for recognizing the beginning of our new (ad)venture together. Our multigenerational worship gathering will be followed by a potluck of snacks and finger foods. We look forward to worshiping with you!

We invite you to join others in the neighbourhood for the Streamside Lantern Installation in Renfrew Community Park (a few blocks up the street) directly after our potluck at 7:30 pm. It is about 20 minutes away on the #25 bus and 10 - 12 minutes by car.

We will be managing carpooling for those who expect to have difficulties getting to the location and/or home from it.  Please fill in this form if you need a lift or are able to give folks a lift to and/or from our worship gathering.

There is some street parking in the neighbourhood, but not a lot. We suggest looking for a spot in the parking lot at Selkirk Elementary, three blocks from the church. Another option, also a walk from the church, is the Famous Foods parking lot on Kingsway.

We are looking forward to gathering this community for its first big worship!

We acknowledge that we live on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm (Kwikwetlem First Nation), which lies within the shared territories of the Tsleil-Waututh, Katzie, Musqueam, Qayqayt, Squamish, and Sto’:lo Nations. We thank the kʷikʷəƛ̓əm who continue
to live on these lands and care for them, along with the waters and all that is above and below
.
